We exploit broadband wireless technology to deliver fixed and mobile broadband connectivity for a range of applications.
Bluenowhere is also working to bring high quality broadband to rural communities that are presently under-served by the existing DSL infrastructure. We believe WiMAX is a viable technology for rural areas, especially where fibre is uneconomic, and more than capable of delivering the 2Mbps universal service obligation outlined in the Digital Britain Report.
We will work with councils and our partners to serve the broadband “notspots” today, bringing our experience in next generation wireless networks to deliver a future-proof WiMAX network for rural communities.
We are a member of the Mobile WiMAX Acceleration Group, an industry collaboration which has undertaken the UK’s first mobile WiMAX user trials to demonstrate the market, technical capability, and business case for WiMAX. Bluenowhere led three of five user trials during 2008/09 and is now working to bring these services to market. The trial report can be downloaded here.
