The Mobile WiMAX Acceleration Group today held an ‘industry day’ in Maidstone, Kent, where our trials have taken place during 2008 and 2009, and published our findings.
There was a significant turnout to the presentations in the morning, and the shuttle bus drive-demonstrations around the town over lunch were a great success.
The message that WiMAX has a strong future in providing fixed and untethered broadband connectivity in non-consumer markets was picked up by some, though the media generally used this to beat WiMAX and herald 3G-LTE as the 4G ‘winner’.
